About Us
>MALAYSIA MARINE DEPARTMENT DATA DEPOSITORY CENTRE
MYmddc will be a one-stop platform for storing marine data and key documents for JLM in digital form and can be referred to as a guide to any stakeholder industry who wishes to conduct Marine Risk Assessment (MRA) activities in Malaysia.
In the implementation of this MRA process, it is found that the research data used either directly or indirectly is very valuable and involves high costs, especially the cost of obtaining the data either from government sources or purchased from the private sector either from within or abroad.
Marine data such as hydrographic information/ bathymetry, meteorological data, Automatic Identification System (AIS) data and related marine data can be used as a basis for the study of shipping traffic density in a shipping area in Malaysian waters which is then integrated for the process of assessing the probability of sea accidents. the area. Apart from that, these marine data stored in digital form can also be helpful especially during investigations in ship accidents at sea.
